In Area 10 near the Dinton Activity Centre is Common mallow Malva sylvestris This is a handsome 'weed' of waste ground, roadside verges and gardens.
Its deep pink, stripey flowers provide nectar for insects throughout the summer.

Still on an Orchid theme, in Area 10 a solitary Pyramidal orchid Anacamptis pyramidalis and several
Bee orchid Ophrys apifera can be seen. The bee orchid is a sneaky mimic - the flower’s velvety lip looks like a female bee.
Males fly in to try to mate with it and end up pollinating the flower. Sadly, the right bee species doesn’t live here, so this orchid is self-pollinated in the UK.

a heady scent at night , attracting many feeding moths.
